Renewing your membership
When you can renew, who sends you the link, and what happens if you miss the last date.
Overview
Your membership runs for a set period. Renewing extends it. Your dashboard shows when it ends and how many days are left.
In the last 3 months before it ends, we can send you a renewal link. Before that, renewal cannot happen yet.
The committee also sets a last date to renew each year. This can be different from the date your own membership ends. Your membership might run April to March, but the committee may ask everyone to renew by June.
After that last date, you owe this year’s fee. You owe it whether you renew late, let your membership run out, or say nothing at all. Only the committee can cancel it.
Missing the date does not end your membership. Nothing happens automatically. Your case goes to the membership team, and only a person can close a membership.
You cannot renew yourself yet. We email you a link when your renewal is due. If you are in the last 90 days and no email has arrived, ask us.
Renewing does not change your login, your Member ID or your card number. Only the dates change, and you get a new receipt.
Reference
| When you can renew | In the last 3 months before your membership ends. That is when we can send you the link. |
|---|---|
| How much | This year’s renewal fee. It can be different from what you paid to join, and from what you paid last year. |
| Who sends the link | We do, by email. There is no button to renew yourself yet. |
| Last date to renew | Set by the committee each year. Renewing on that day is fine. You owe the fee from the day after. |
| Who the last date applies to | Members who were already members last year. If you joined during this year, it does not apply to you until next year. |
| If you miss it | You owe this year’s fee, and your case goes to the membership team. Your membership stays open until someone looks at it. |
| Honorary and founding members | Renewed without paying. You will not get a link. |
| If your membership has already run out | Renewing later is still a renewal. You keep your Member ID, card number and history. You still owe the fee if the last date has passed. |
| Voting at a general meeting | You need a current membership. Renew before yours ends, not after. |
Step-by-step
-
Check your details firstOpen My Profile and check your name, email, phone and address. Your receipt is made from these details at the moment you pay. We cannot change a receipt afterwards. This is the step people skip and then ask us to undo. We cannot.
-
Open the link in your emailThe email is how you renew. The Renew Membership button on your dashboard does not work yet — it is marked Soon. The dashboard does give you a ready-made message to send us if you need a link.Being inside the 90 days does not mean you can renew yourself. Every renewal starts with a link we send.
The renewal notice on your dashboard, once you are within 90 days of your membership ending. -
Check the amountMake sure the fee looks right for your type of membership. Fees can change from year to year. Ask us before you pay if something looks wrong.
-
Pay, and wait for the page to come backYou pay on the payment company’s own page. Do not close the window while it is working. See How payment works if it fails.
-
Check it workedYour dashboard should say Active with the new end date, and a new receipt should appear under Receipts. Download your card again — a copy you saved earlier still shows the old date.

Troubleshooting
You cannot renew this year. Should you ignore the email?
Why it happens: No. Once the last date passes, you owe this year’s fee. You owe it even if you then decide to leave. Before that date, you owe nothing.
What to do: Reply before the last date. If money is the problem, say so — the committee can discuss the fee, and they are the only ones who can cancel it. If you want to leave, send a resignation request before the last date and you will owe nothing. If you just want to skip a year, tell us that too.
You are within the 90 days but no email has arrived.
Why it happens: Links go out in batches, or the email went to your spam folder.
What to do: Search your email for Mangala United. If it is not there, ask us for a new link and give your Member ID.
You want to renew early.
Why it happens: Renewing opens 90 days before your membership ends, not before.
What to do: Wait for the 90 days to start. Your dashboard shows you when.
Your membership has already run out.
Why it happens: No renewal was completed before the end date.
What to do: Ask us for a renewal link. Do not fill in a new application — that creates a second record for you.
The last date has passed and you have not renewed.
Why it happens: You owe this year’s fee. Your membership has not ended, and it will not end on its own.
What to do: Renew if you want to stay. If you want to leave, send a resignation request — but you will need to pay the fee first, or ask the committee to cancel it.
